Staying private on SugarDaddyMeet: every setting explained

SugarDaddyMeet has twelve visibility switches, and most of the ones that hide you need Premium. It has no button that deletes a conversation. Below is each switch and the tier it needs, where the verification video goes, the difference between blocking and hiding, what a card statement shows, and the UK fraud number the platform's safety page leaves out, all read from inside a member account on 15 September 2026.

Which SugarDaddyMeet privacy settings are free, and which need Premium?

SugarDaddyMeet's Privacy and Visibility screen holds twelve settings. The platform's FAQ of 23 April 2026 says only Premium members can hide their profiles. For every other switch we went by the Premium privilege list, read on 15 September 2026. On 3 October 2026 that list had 43 items on a man's account and 42 on a woman's, and it opened with Human Concierge™, personal support and hand-picked matches; 1:1 Meetups, requests to meet in person; a personal dating advisory team; a profile review by the concierge team. Women's Premium adds a filter by annual income and net worth; both are tiers members pick themselves, not checked figures. The Discover screen that day had five tabs: Flame, Gallery, 1:1 Meetup, Premium and SDM Select. The twelve switches below are from the 15 September 2026 reading. Each one, what the screen says it does, and which side of the paywall it sits on:

  • Hide my current locationOthers stop seeing where you are right now. Free
  • Hide my cityMembers see the broader area you choose, not your exact city. Free
  • Hide me from all membersOnly you can view your profile and photos. Messages still work, by the FAQ. Premium
  • Hide me from men, hide me from womenTwo toggles, one gender each. Premium
  • Show only to members I likeNobody sees you until you have liked them. Premium
  • Show my profile to members I like or paying membersThe same, plus paying members. Premium
  • Show me to members inAll regions, my country only, or selected regions. Search only. Premium
  • Show me to members agedAn age band on who can see you. The default is no limit. Premium
  • Browse profiles anonymouslyNo trace in Viewed You. The screen marks it "not recommended". Premium
  • Hide my online statusRemoves the green dot; your profile stays findable. Premium
  • Hide my activities in MomentsYou stop appearing in the Moments feed. Free

A thirteenth, only receive messages from members I message first, is marked Chairman and "not recommended" on the screen we read on 15 September 2026. On 3 October 2026 the man's Premium list included the same line. If you want it, trust the screen in front of you.

What does Global Visibility do?

Global Visibility is the switch on SugarDaddyMeet's main Settings page that lets you and members in other countries see each other, provided they have it on too. Turn it off and members abroad leave your results, and you leave theirs. If you are in Leeds and keep being shown profiles from another continent, this is the switch. The region setting above narrows search; this one decides whether cross-border members see you at all. Beside it, Prevent Incoming Video & Voice Calls stops anyone starting a call with you.

Blocking versus hiding from my search

On SugarDaddyMeet, blocking and hiding from your search are different actions, and the FAQ (30 July 2025) spells out the gap. Hide from my search removes a member from your results only: they can still see your profile and message you. Hide, labelled Hide (Block) in the chat menu, cuts both ways: neither of you can contact the other, appear in the other's search, or see the other's posts. Both lists sit under Settings, Hidden Members, and both can be undone there. Reporting is separate, from the "..." menu on a profile or in the chat.

What is the Quick Exit button?

Quick Exit is the tab on the right edge of every SugarDaddyMeet page, and it swaps the page for google.com in one click; it is not on the Premium privilege list, so we read it as free. Nothing on the screen or in the FAQ says it logs you out or clears your browser history, so clear history yourself.

The other free habits are a private album that members must request, which you can unshare from the chat menu, and a username rather than a name on every card.

What is the verification video, and where does it go?

SugarDaddyMeet's photo verification is a selfie video of 3 to 8 seconds, matched against your profile photos and confirmed or rejected within 24 hours, by the platform's FAQ as of October 2026. Coloured lights flash while you record, and the FAQ warns anyone photosensitive to take care. It is "free for now", in the platform's phrase, and lapses if you delete every public photo. The FAQ (30 March 2026) says the verification photo, its word for the submission, is confidential and cannot be viewed or accessed by anyone after submission, including you; a newer entry (28 July 2026) says it confirms only that the person matches the photos, not income, occupation, intentions or criminal history.

Verification can also be made compulsory. In March 2025 a paying member wrote on Reddit that, with two weeks left on his subscription, the platform stopped him messaging or liking anyone, including in running conversations, until he verified by selfie video and put a recognisable face photo as his main picture. He would do neither, for professional reasons, and wrote off the rest of his membership. One reply would not risk the video leaking in a breach, another wanted the check because so many profiles look nothing like their photos, and one man thought paying by card already proved he was real. Whichever side you take, you cannot refuse once the platform asks, and the only assurance about the file is the FAQ line that nobody can retrieve it.

ID verification and the credit badge are optional

SugarDaddyMeet's ID verification runs through Yoti and sits under Recommended, not Required: a passport, national ID card, driving licence or residence permit, plus a selfie if Yoti asks.

The credit badge asks for a credit report and awards Excellent, Very Good or Good against American score bands of 800 to 850, 740 to 799 and 670 to 739, so a UK report does not map onto it cleanly. Neither changes what a match sees beyond a badge, and the service agreement says the platform runs no criminal background checks and gives no guarantee about the Verified badge. How to check a man yourself is in the salt daddy guide.

The one thing you cannot delete: a conversation

SugarDaddyMeet lets you hide a conversation and block the member, but it has no button that deletes a thread for good. The FAQ says so in two halves: Hide Conversation from the three dots in the chat window (4 February 2025), then Settings, Hidden Conversations, Unhide to bring it back (7 July 2026). Unsend works for 5 minutes and leaves a note that you unsent something. A member on Reddit in July 2025 found the same: hidden threads can be unhidden, blocked members unblocked, and old messages stay searchable for anyone who one day opens the account. We found no setting that removes a thread from the platform's side.

Assume every message stays. Surname, employer, street and anything you would not want read out stay off the thread. The service agreement (12 May 2026) forbids screenshots and binds every member not to use a paying member's private details for commercial, revenge or publicity purposes. Breaking those clauses can cost a member their account, and the agreement mentions legal action; the platform does not say the thread is encrypted, and nothing technical stops a screenshot.

Two-factor authentication and a separate email

Two-Factor Authentication sits under Account & Security in SugarDaddyMeet's Settings and read Off on the account we opened, so switch it on yourself. Use an email address that exists only for this: Interaction and Suggested emails can be turned off under Settings, Email Notifications, but that screen says password resets and verification codes are always sent, and they arrive from SugarDaddyMeet. The FAQ (4 June 2026) says the platform never emails asking for your password or account details; anything that does is phishing.

What shows on your bank statement

A SugarDaddyMeet charge appears as Success SDM or Success*SDM on a card statement, or CCBill.com *SuccessMatch through CCBill, by the FAQ as of October 2026. Check the amount rather than the name. On 3 October 2026 the upgrade page offered Premium at $300 a month or $800 for three (one complimentary month with the three-month plan), Platinum at $1,000 and Chairman at $2,990. A man's account and a woman's account showed the same figures. Other sites still quote an older list of $50, $90 and $144. The platform publishes no price list, so go by your own payment page. The service agreement gives 3 business days to cancel for a refund, and subscriptions renew until you turn that off on the Subscriptions page. The cost page has the table.

Pause versus delete, and the six-month restore

SugarDaddyMeet offers Pause or Delete Account at the foot of Settings, behind your password: Pause hides you and keeps everything, Delete removes the profile but can be undone for 6 months. A paid membership keeps running through a pause, because the FAQ says Premium time cannot be frozen. Log in within 6 months of deleting and the account is restored automatically, by the FAQ of 7 July 2025; only after that is your information permanently deleted, apart from anything posted in the public community. Cancel the subscription on the website before you go. The Android app is an APK from the site's own Get Our App page, not a Google Play listing, and the platform's FAQ (13 March 2026) says iPhone users get the mobile website rather than an app.

The UK numbers the platform's safety page leaves out

The UK numbers SugarDaddyMeet's safety page leaves out are 0300 123 2040 for Report Fraud (formerly Action Fraud) at reportfraud.police.uk, and 101 for Police Scotland; the page itself lists NSOPW, RAINN, NCMEC, the FTC and 911. Report any request for money or a "verification fee" from a match to whichever covers you, and to your bank the same day. The seven first-date habits are in the first-date guide, and the guide to finding a sugar daddy in the UK covers what a realistic sugar relationship looks like.

Privacy questions

Can I hide my profile on SugarDaddyMeet for free?
No. The platform's FAQ, updated 23 April 2026, says only Premium members can hide their profiles. Hiding from one gender, showing only to members you like, browsing anonymously and hiding the online dot are not in that FAQ entry; we marked them Premium because the 43-item Premium privilege list carries Browse Profiles Anonymously, Choose Who Sees You and On-Demand Invisibility. Free members can hide their city and current location by our reading of the privilege list, keep photos in a private album that others must request, and use Quick Exit. Pausing the account also hides the profile and photos, and nothing on the screen ties it to a subscription, but it is a break rather than a privacy setting.
Is my verification video shown to anyone?
No, by the platform's own FAQ (30 March 2026): the verification photo, the FAQ's word for what you submit, is confidential, cannot be viewed or accessed by anyone after submission, including you, and is used only for verification. What other members see is the Photo Verified badge. How long the platform keeps the file is not on the FAQ page, which is the gap one member on Reddit raised in March 2025.
Can I delete my messages on SugarDaddyMeet?
Not permanently. You can unsend a message within 5 minutes, and the other person sees a note that you did. After that you can hide the conversation, which is reversible from Settings, Hidden Conversations, or block the member, which is also reversible. A member on Reddit found the same in July 2025.
What shows on my bank statement?
Success SDM or Success*SDM on a card statement, or CCBill.com *SuccessMatch if you pay through CCBill, by the platform's FAQ as of October 2026. None of them says sugar. Check the amount. On 3 October 2026 Premium was $300 a month on a man's account and on a woman's account. Other sites still quote an older list starting at $50.
Can I use a fake name on SugarDaddyMeet?
You do not need one. Other members see your username, not your name, and the edit-profile page says in so many words that your age is public but your birthday is private. A first name in the bio is fine; surname, employer and street are not, and the profile guide explains why. Do not shade your age: the service agreement asks for accurate information and the minimum age is 20. Changing a username later is a Premium privilege. Your photos must show your face, because the service agreement requires at least one photo that clearly shows it, and a recognisable face photo as main picture was one of the two things the platform demanded of the member in the March 2025 Reddit thread on this page before it would let him message again.
Does SugarDaddyMeet run background checks?
No. The footer of every page says the platform does not conduct background checks, and the service agreement of 12 May 2026 has a section headed No Criminal Background Screening; it reserves the right to run checks but takes no obligation to. Photo verification confirms that a person matches their photos and Yoti confirms a document. Neither is a criminal record check, so the ten-minute routine in the salt daddy guide is still yours to do.
